The first time I met Amila was on a boat touring the Galapagos Islands with n 2014. The next time was in Edinburgh, Scotland, where she was living and working and I was hiking the West Highland Way. We had lunch and toured the Water Wheel nearby. And the third was in Colombo, Sri Lanka in January 2024. Her father had recently died and she spent the last two years caring for him. He was a general and a very great man. His funeral is very impressive and Amila speaks at it, so you can see her. It was a great treat to have lunch again with her, this time in Sri Lanka.
