The Virginia Capital Trail, 52 miles from Yorktown to Richmond. I spent a night about halfway, at the Edgewood Plantation.
I started n Jamestown, cycled through Willamsburg and spent the night at the Edgewood Plantation along the trail. Then cycled into Richmond the next day and took the train to Quantico and cycled back into Prince William Forest Park. Great trip!
Along the trail, I stopped for a self-guided tour of the grounds of Sherwood Forest, a plantation purchased by President John Tyler in 1845 and still owned and lived on by his descendants. The farm was established in 1661 and both sides of the Civil War occupied it at different times. The sundial with the frog predates the Civil War, 1862. Also, that is an Osage Orange.
