Hiking and camping, solo, in Baja California, Mexico was all I had hoped for.
Easy walking on dirt roads, camping right on the beach, staying in an occasional hotel. Best of all were the friendly people. Good weather, good food made for a wonderful trip.

This trip was done solo, I speak some Spanish, and am 66-years old. In case you are not rude enough to ask!

In 2008 I walked the pilgrim path from St. Jean Pied Pont, France, through Santiago, Spain to Fisterre, on the coast. As I traveled I kept a sketchbook diary and collected them into a calendar.

Continuing our walk down the Southern California Coast, we stay in Santa Monica and take the bus to the start of the day’s walk. Coming from Escondido Drive today, we can visit Lake Shrine and the Getty Villa, for free!
While spending a few nights in Santa Monica, it is fun to walk the Third Avenue Promenade with lovely shops and street performances.
